Williams Lead The Field In Catering Solutions
After a hard day battling on the championship fairways, the pros of the 2006 Ryder Cup trophy teams were able to look forward to relaxing in the opulent surroundings of Ireland's K Club, in the safe knowledge that everything was taken care of behind the scenes.

Williams Refrigeration and Falcon Foodservice are proud to have been closely involved in the design and installation of the 5-star leisure resort's new state of the art kitchen facilities, ensuring the consistently high standards of service that guests have come to expect at the prestigious County Kildare countryside retreat. Europe successfully defended their title against the best from the US at the luxurious venue in September, no doubt having enjoyed the Irish hospitality and ambience in the process.

The key to the kitchen design was a hygienic, clean and sanitary environment in which to cook and prepare food. The provision of temperature-controlled areas was vital to this and the K Club now boasts the convenience of four walk-in modular coldrooms, providing enormous flexibility in terms of internal storage.

In such a busy kitchen the installation of the popular Williams Garnet gastronorm freezers and refrigerators provide additional storage capacity, while the specification of the Opal and Onyx counters maximise the combination of storage and preparation areas in the workspace. Hard-wearing, hygienic and fully adjustable shelving significantly increased the versatility of the storage in operation, and with the critical importance of cleanliness and convenient maintenance in catering. 

The effective and efficient storage in the kitchen is complemented by the fourteen stylish Williams Bottle Coolers installed in the bar area - designed for the attractive display of bottled drinks with stylish double glazed doors making easing customer selection and service.

All Williams refrigeration solutions are designed and manufactured to ISO9001-2000 quality management system, offering easy operation, management and maintenance together with excellent performance and energy efficiency.

Falcon's Fusion Dominator, a six-burner range cooker with the addition of a highly powerful 8.2kW (28,000 btu) vortex wok burner has been incorporated into the design. It offers the K-Club chefs the flexibility of being able to offer an enhanced menu that caters for ethnic tastes.

Kitchen Designer, Andrew Powis of Sterling Foodservice, was responsible for the planning and specification of the kitchen equipment and he comments: "Williams and Falcon have a well established reputation for service and performance excellence and their expertise was critical for such a prestigious project. The K-Club's restaurant is one of the best in Ireland with the menus designed around the kitchen equipment.

"Behind the tranquillity of the bar and restaurant areas lies a frenetic hive of activity in the kitchen. Quality is key, whether it is the service customers expect, food served or the equipment used to prepare and cook it.  In a fast-paced environment, the science behind the design was to ensure maximum convenience and storage and time saving efficiencies. Not only did the Williams and Falcon equipment help to achieve that, but they it also created a clean environment in which to work where hygiene is everything."
